Meal Prep Tips

After half a year of doing nearly nothing, my life is back to super busy: I work until late afternoon, hit the gym, go home, take a shower , eat and go sleeping... Just imagine I had to prepare my meals for everyday after. This wouldn't make it any easier and even more stressful...By meal prepping I try to eliminate the stress and time factor.

As I always preach: preparation is the key.
The first step is to plan and list up your meals for each day and then get all the things you need, not only food but also lock-lid containers. If you are new to meal prepping, it's better to buy a few more containers , just to make sure you can store all the food.
  • Pick one day per week to plan your meals for the whole week (according to your goals and preferences of course)
  • Choose two days to prepare your meals. This should be at the beginning and in the middle of the week. I wouldn't prepare meals for more than 2 days as it may risks to get spoiled.
  • Make sure to include every nutrient you need (protein, starch and vegetables).
    - Protein: chicken breast, natural ground beef, ground turkey, fish (salmon, tuna, cod, shrimps), eggs, steaks.
    - If you are vegetarian or vegan: beans, tofu, or broccoli.
    - Carbs: quinoa, sweet potato, brown rice, basmati rice, potatoes, quinoa crackers, puffed rice quinoa crackers.
    - Veggies: Spinach, green beans, broccoli, tomatoes, asparagus, carrots, zucchini, cucumber, mushrooms, peppers
  • If you have all the ingredients for your meals, start chopping and slicing your vegetables. This can also be useful if you want to snack (it's easier to chose for something healthier when it's ready to be eaten). Do the same with fruits that need cutting or peeling.
  • Cook and prepare your protein and carbs for the following two days. You can also prepare your meals for the whole week if you put them in the freezer. (I prefer preparing for only two days, it's up to you)
I think it's easier if you prepare your meals at two different days as this will prevent you from losing your whole rest-day with preparing and cooking for the next week. Oh...and concerning the storage of your containers when you are on the road, at work or at school, have a look at my older posts about the Renee Tote and Innovator500 by 6PackFitness. I think they are the perfect thing to help you stick to your diet and still look fancy as a fairy.

Have fun prepping my loves.

Fairy's Christmas Wish-List

It's that time of the year again, the most beautiful and festive of all months; december. I totally love the last month of the year because everyone is in a joyful mood, the stores are festively decorated, you can open a little door on your advent calendar everyday as christmas is almost knocking on the door.

I really love to make presents to my beloved family and friends and I already contemplated a little bit about it. This year I will try to get the presents a little sooner... isn't it too hectic the week just before christmas when all the late-boomers are frantically searching for a gift?

Therefor I am floating some ideas if you don't have the foggiest idea yet and don't want to be super late and give away a super shabby gift. I also brought in some of my wishes, most of them are for the gym but I would also love to have some fancy everyday-life stuff to look fancy outside the gym. Yes I also have a life outside of the gym haha.

Renee Tote by 6 Pack Fitness

Yep, I have become a victim of 6 Pack Fitness too, 'thanks' to Instagram... damn it haha.
After I have been searching endlessly for a new meal management bag, I finally found the 6 Pack bag Fitness account on Instagram. (Remember my post about the Innovator 500?)

I had already heard of it and I saw several bags, when I was at the FIBO in April this year, but back then I didn't know why so many people where queuing up at the 6 Pack Fitness stand... Well, now I know why haha. It was the release and the registration to get one of the first Renee Totes. If only I knew that at that moment.

If you have read my post about the Innovator 500, you should already know that I also ordered a Renee Tote at www.extremenutrition.co.uk. Therefor I don't lose time on reviewing their shipping again.

Now, I got myself the Renee Tote in Orange. I know that most people would have opted for Beige or Black, but that's exactly the reason why I choose orange hehe. I always try to stand out from the crowd and be a little different. And I can give my outfits a little touch with that bag, while my winter-apparel is usually grey, brown or black. Maybe you wonder why I got another meal management bag? Well, it's because I am going to start my first real job next year and I don't want to carry hundreds of different bags to the office. Thus, I thought the Renee Tote would be the perfect thing.

Just as the Innovator 500, it seems very resistant and the quality is pretty satisfying so far. You have so many little pockets on that bag and in the bag itself too. From the front it looks like a normal fashionable bag with a lot of storage space. On the back you have another zipper where your meal management hides.

Besides the several little pockets, the bag comes with 4 lock-lid containers (which are the same kind like those of the Innovator), 3 ice-Packs (2 smaller one and a bigger one), and a small round box which is dedicated to your supplements. Just like the Innovator, you can take out the plastic stack-arrangement  if you need space for other things.
The normal part of the bag is purpose-built to carry larger things like your laptop, paper-stuff but also smaller things like your wallet, smartphone, make-up purse and so on.

All in one, I am so happy that I bought this bag and that I choose this color, I really love it.
Of course I will take this bag with me for our trip to Hamburg as we won't stay at the same location all the time. I still want to look fancy and have my meals at hand when we are going to explore the city and the beautiful christmas markets.
