Follow me around

Hello!

I have been posting so many things since I started blogging so today I thought you should have the chance to follow me around on a free-day.

Let's go!

Getting up at 8.20 am and slipping in my favorite bunny-slippers. I hate stepping on a cold floor , especially in the morning when I am still sleepy.

Bathroom time! Aloe Vera facial care to get a freshness kick!

Preparing my super delicious breakfast. Washing some raspberries, cutting some strawberries, preparing my lemon tea for my Lemon oats , et voilà!

P.S My Fatkiller and my BCAAs are in the GoStak, I also had a glass of fresh orange juice and of course my daily shot of Aloevera gel.

Packing my bag to hit the gym.

On my way to my favorite place! The early bird catches the worm!

Waiting for my workout-buddy to get started, my beloved boyfriend. Today we were pumping up some shoulders. And as I have already trained biceps and triceps on monday, I hit a little HIIT on the stair machine while he was pumping up his arms after the shoulder workout.

After the gym, the shower and lunch, I was getting ready for a little shopping trip with my sister to Saarbrücken. She needed some new stuff as she will be going to Punta Cana soon. Lucky girl!
Little snapshot while we waited in the queue.

I think we both deserved this 'little' treat at Starbuck's , as we both hit the gym this morning and I think everybody knows how exhausting shopping can be! I had a raspberry-cheesecake-muffin and a mango-passionfruit frapuccino and sammie had a classic blueberry-muffin with a mango-passionfruit frapuccino too.

We were lucky that we arrived at the car before it started raining. I hate this april-foolish-weather! It's definitely time for some real spring-summer weather! What do you think?

You know how girls are. They always have to buy something. So here is my little prey from Saarbrücken. An ice-mug, of course pink, a new long summer dress , 2 new PJ's, comfy hot-pants, new green-tea variation with mango and Pineapple.

Yes I bought Marvel P.J's... I am a little nerd sometime.

And here I am, sitting on my desk and creating this little post. I am sorry that I didn't take any pictures during my workouts, but I think taking gym-selfies is quite embarrassing, especially when some people are around. I am there to workout and I need to FOCUS on my workout not on my smartphone.

AloeVera Benefits

Hey dears!Today I would like to talk a bit about the benefits of Aloe Vera to you.
It is quite an incredible plant and belongs to the the lily family (lat. Liliaceae).
You can use it internal but also external.
I love having an Aloe Vera shot in the morning as it is known for numerous healthy reasons. I also add it to my smoothies as it is full of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, enzymes and fatty acids.
No wonder this plant has been used for over 5000 years by us.

Here is a list of this plant's benefits :

1. High in Vitamins & Minerals:

Aloe Vera contains a lot of vitamins (A,C,E,folicacid, choline, B1,B2,B3,B6,B12) and around 20 minerals (Calcium, magnesium, zinc, chromium, selenium, sodium and many more)

2. High in Amino Acids & Fatty Acids:

Amino acids are important if you want to build muscle. Your body needs about 22 amino acids while 8 of them are essential. Aloe Vera contains 18-20 amino acids , with all 8 essential amino acids.
It also has a big amount of fatty acids which are important for your cholesterol and lower the fats in the blood and help to reduce symptoms of allergies and acid indigestion.

3. Aloe Vera as a adaptogen:

Aloe Vera is also know as a great adaptogen, which boosts your body's natural ability to adapt to external changes and resist illness. So Aloe Aera balances your body's system, stimulates the defense and adaptive mechanisms of your body. This makes you cope better with stress.

4. Helps with your digestion:

A properly functioning digestive tract is very important for your health. Aloe Vera soothes and cleanses the digestive tract and helps improve your digestion. It also helps to decrease the amount of unfriendly bacteria and keeps your flora in balance.

5. Detoxifies:

Just like the seaweeds and Chia seed, Aloe Vera is a gelatinous plant food. It's gels move through the intestinal tract and absorb toxins along the way, which then get eliminated through the colon. This will help you with a proper elimination of the toxins your body contains.

6. Cardiovascular health:

If you consume Aloe Vera gel, this multiplies the oxygen transportation and diffusion capabilities of the red blood cells.Aloe Vera also reduces the risk of heart disease because it regulates blood pressure, improves circulation and oxidation of the blood , lowers your cholesterol and makes your blood less sticky.

7. Helps boost the immune system:

Aloe Vera stimulates white blood cells of your immune system that fight against viruses. This plant is an immune enhancer, because of his wide range of anti-oxidants that help fight the unstable compounds known as free-radicals that contribute to the aging-process.

8. Great for your skin:

Aloe Vera is known for its healing properties for the skin. It is also known for healing wounds like burns, abrasions, psoriasis and even bug bites.
And due to it's high amount of water content (99%), it hydrates and moisturizes your skin.
This increases the elasticity of the skin.
Supplementing with just 1200mg of Aloe Vera has been found to prevent wrinkles and keep you looking young.

9. Weight Loss:
The Aloe Vera plant improves your digestion and detoxifies your body which will promote weight loss. The moment our digestion starts to improve our toxic load will be less and we will feel more energetic.

Personal experience:

I've been drinking Aloe Vera since 1 1/2 year and it makes me feel better and better. First I was very skeptical about it as I couldn't imagine that something like this could make a difference. Before  I had headaches twice a week, minimum, now I only have a headache once a month.

My skin has become a bit better, as well as my digestion  and I don't get sick that easily anymore. I really recommend this Aloe Vera drink gel to everyone! It has a super delicious taste. And if you don't like the taste well you simply add it to your smoothies or juices and you can still benefit from the plant.

By the way I am not only consuming Aloe Vera drink gel, but I am also using Aloe Vera cosmetics as I think that you should only put something in your face that you could also eat. I love the smell of the creams.

Bootea teatox- the truth!

Hello Monday!

As I told you in a previous artcile,I did Nikki Sharp's 5-Day detox program 'stay sharp be strong' last week and it was awesome. While I try to stay away from hyped products,I have to admit that, once, I have also been a victim of a product hyped and exploited through social media.

Last year I was scrolling through my Instagram feed and cam across  'Bootea Teatox', I guess that by now almost everyone has already heard of it. I was really curious about it, so I scrolled through their profile. And what I saw was a bunch of great before/after pictures and fancy quote-pictures. I searched the whole web for reviews and I couldn't find anything negative about this teatox. And while I was also trying to lose some weight ( I was at 60kg back then) I ordered a package and downloaded their free diet-plan.

1 week later my 14-Day Boota Teatox arrived from the UK( I guess). My order contained 1 bag with 14 Daytime teabags and 1 bag with 7 Night-time teabags. The Daytime tea was for every morning before having breakfast and the night-time tea was for every second night before going to bed.

When I first opened the bags it smelled like feet, seriously. I was  a bit disgusted by this mold smell. I also went through their diet plan and now that I am more into healthy-  and clean eating I know that the food program they offer is total bullshit. I mean how do you expect people to lose weight and look and feel good afterwards if you eat a jacket potato in the evening? Or oat-cookies with yogurt and only a small green salad for lunch? Are you serious? Plus, a detox is not meant to make you lose weight! A detox should only cleanse your body and make you feel better!

After 2 weeks I had a super flat belly and I lost 4kg, but NOT because of this Teatox but because I couldn't eat anything anymore. I constantly had belly aches and diarrhea. I didn't feel good at all and In addition to the belly aches I also had many headaches and my whole body felt bad.

But worst of all, my menstrual cycle became totally irregular. Which I think shouldn't be happening while doing a detox program?! I mean how can a tea to influence your menstrual cycle? This Bootea seems to contain some really weird ingredients and I'm not sure yet if I want to know what I exactly consumed these 14 days.

After having done this teatox, I did some research again, and I found only 1 single honest (and not sponsored/paid review) about Bootea that also listed some of the side effects. I wish I had found this review earlier.
And you know what? In this review the person described the same side-effects that I had.
Plus, you risk ,as a girl, that your birth control pill doesn't work. I can call myself lucky that I am not pregnant by now! They should rename their tea from Boo-tea to Prego-tea if you ask me.

I highly dissuade to buy anything that has an advertisement on Instagram, Twitter or any other social media. You don't know where it is produced, you can't be sure what it exactly contains, even if it's listed on the back how can you be sure that this is true? These products are not even proven or have been analyzed by any doctor, professor or nutritionist.

If you really want to do a Detox, checkout yesterday's post!
I highly recommend Nikki Sharp's detox program, it is 100% natural, you don't have to buy any feet-smelling tea and I can reassure you that you will feel better and that you won't get bellyaches, diarrhea or get pregnant!

I wish you all a nice and successful week!

5Day-Detox review

Hi guys!

As some of you might alreay know, I started Nikki Sharp's 'staysharpbestrong'Detox. Before I tell you about my experience, I have to admit that I changed the meals a little bit, because I didn't have the time to buy everything I need. Now that the Detox is over I wanted to share a detailed review and my personal experience about it.

Tuesday/Day 1:

I started the day with Lemon oats. This citrus-green-tea actually added an awesome taste to my oats and it made me a two-in-one breakfast.

As a mid-morning snack I had a hand-full of Almonds, which I definitely needed as I am used to have a little bit more for breakfast.

For lunch I cooked myself some Quinoa, in veggie-bouillon, to get it a bit tastier, with ratatouille.

In the late afternoon I had an apple and some almonds before I left the house to hit the gym. I have to admit that by then, I felt like everyday, and during my workouts I didn't feel any weaker, which is great!

For dinner: 1 cup of quinoa and 2 cups of veggies.

Wednesday/Day 2:

Breakfast: Again lemon oats

Snack: Some Almonds & citrus-green-tea

Lunch: Only Veggies and some rice, I was out of quinoa... whoops!

After Lunch I hit the gym. I was a bit tired, but I could recognize that at the same time I felt even better. I think I felt tired because I didn't sleep that much the night before.

Snack: Apple & Almonds

Dinner: Only Veggies.
Usually at the end of a day my belly is a bit bloated, but I realized that it stayed flat all day long. Awesome!

at ''work'', walking in the woods with the kids.

Thursday/Day 3:

Breakfast: Lemon oats with Goji berries. I added Goji berries because I wanted to have a different taste

Mid-morning snack: Almonds & citrus-green-tea

Lunch: Veggies Soup. I wanted to eat the vegetable a bit different, so I made a soup. Vegetable is vegetable, no matter how they are cooked, right?

Afternoon snack: 1 Apple, some Blueberries and almonds.

Thursday is my leg-day, that's why I treated myself with a 'bigger' bowl of Oats in the morning to get some extra energy. I don't know how people can feel weaker while doing this detox program as I definitely felt great and I even hit my personal record on the legpress...160kg! Whoohoo

Dinner: Veggie soup

Friday/Day 4:

Breakfast: Oats with Ginger-tea. Awesome taste too!

Snack: Almonds

Lunch: Some vegetables and rice. As I was still out of quinoa and didn't have the time to go to the grocery store.

Before I hit a HIIT training with my boyfriend, I had a handful almonds and a small apple. I was almost dying during the HIIT training because I am a little lazy snail when it comes to running, the detox didn't do anything to make me feel bad. My boyfriend was motivating me by telling me that I am a little lazy snail and that I should run faster. Which actually made me angry and at the same time motivated me to keep pushing through this work-out.

Dinner: A huge plate of veggies and quinoa. I was so hungry after that HIIT workout.

Saturday/Day 5:

Breakfast: Dough-roll. Checkout yesterday's post (HERE) . Actually it's not on the program, but berries are and zucchinis are vegetables. So don't blame me.

Snack: Apple and almonds.

Lunch: I didn't had the time yet to go to the grocery store, but lucky as I am, I found some bio Quinoa in a box. Yay! So I had quinoa , cooked in a veggie-bouillon, and ratatouille.

Afternoon-snack was an apple and some almonds

For dinner I had the rests from lunch, ratatouille with quinoa.

Post-detox-review:

I don't understand how this detox can make people feel weaker. I didn't recognize any change concerning my energy throughout the day or during my workouts. The only thing that actually changed was that I felt better, more energized and more present. I wasn't tired after my meals and my belly stayed flat the last 5 days, which I think is great.

Plus, I lost 2 1/2 kilos, which was nothing but water retention, 1,5 cm around my hips and my waist, and my skin looked more refreshing during the detox.

Yes, that's me

I honestly recommend this detox program to everyone who wants to cleanse their body. It is 100% natural, you don't have to take any pills or shakes, you will definitely feel better and your body will thank you! I will definitely do this detox-program every month!

Keep rollin'

Hey there!

Today is my last day of Nikki Sharp's 'stay sharp be strong' detox program and I wanted to have something different for breakfast.
So I was scrolling through my 'Following-list' and I clicked on Melina's Blog, ( She is new in Fitnessblogging too) where I found this awesome recipe!
I know in Nikki Sharp's detox you shouldn't eat several things but hey , the ingredients I need to 'bake' the Dough-Roll are actually okay.

Dough-Rolls , they look a bit weird but they taste like heaven!
So let's get started!

the ingredients you need
your equipment
zucchini-blueberry mix
egg-snow
your dough with vanilla powder
pouring it on the tray
your tray should be at least 1 cm deep
Et voilà! They have a weird color but they are so delicious!

What you need:

  • 1 Bowl
  • 1 Blender
  • 1 Mixer
  • 1 Oven
  • 1 baking-tray & non-stick baking paper
  • 1 Zucchini
  • 3 Eggs
  • 1 bowl of blueberries
  • Vanilla powder
  • Stevia, or any sweetener you like

Directions:

  1. Blend your Zucchini until it's almost a smoothie
  2. Add only 1/2 of the Blueberries and blend them with your Zucchini
  3. Make some 'snow' with the 3 egg-whites
  4. Put your Zucchini-Blueberry mix in your bowl and add 1 yolk & mix
  5. Now let it snow on your bowl and mix everything together
  6. Then add some vanilla powder and some sweetener to taste
  7. Finally, pour your mix on the non-stick baking-paper, which should lie on a baking tray that's at least 1cm deep. ( You don't want to pour the whole thing on the floor!)
  8. Bake it for about 30min at 180° in the oven
  9. After that, take your dough out, let it cool down a bit.
  10. Cut it in pieces
  11. Sprinkle the rest blueberries on it and keep rollin' rollin' rollin'...
  12. ENJOY!
