Follow my Food

Hey there!
Finally it's Friday again, which means for some of you 'enjoying the weekend'. Well, I don't make any difference between week and weekend at the moment as I am studying everyday for my exam...only 25 days to go... I am starting to get nervous day by day and I hope that the day itself I won't die...
But now let's forget all the serious things in our lives that tear us down and get to something more interesting and pleasant... FOOD!

Since I started my preparation 2 weeks ago on a Monday morning, I was asked so many times about my food. How much do I eat, how often do I eat , but most of all what exactly do I eat.
First of all you have to know that I got 2 different eating programs. One is for training-days and the other for rest-days, which is logical because I burn more calories on training days than on rest-days.

On training days I have eggs, spelt bread and stewed apples for breakfast. As a mid-morning snack I get wheysted. Lunch is a juicy beef steak with quinoa and a salad made of tomatoes and cucumber. My afternoon snack consists of quinoa crackers, tuna and some pineapple and to finish my training day I enjoy a delicious chicken steak with a potato and broccoli, and before going to sleep I make myself a casein-pudding.

And this is what my day looks like on rest-days: For breakfast I get wheysted then, as a mid-morning-snack I have a bowl of oat-bran with pineapple-juice and some chicken ham besides. My lunch comprises turkey steak, green beans and yummy sweet potatoes. Afternoon snack is some whey again and nuts. Later in the evening I get to enjoy salmon, cod and carrots and again to finish my day I have my famous casein pudding.

I have to admit that I thought my diet would be so monotonous and dry that I would have struggle to get through it , but as you can see it's not boring at all! I am so happy that my diet is so varied and that I have so many food-options.

For example :  I cook my steak in a mix made of olive-oil, garlic, pepper and oregano. Quinoa is being cooked in a diet-bouillon and over my tomato-cucumber-salad I pour a little bit of olive oil, lemon vinegar and some salt-free spices. In the evening I often have a jacket-potato, broccoli-chips and a chicken-steak which is cooked the same way as my beef-steak, because I simply love it.
You see, a diet can be quite awesome if you make something out of it!

Have a nice weekend fitfam!

Grocery shopping for champions

Hey there!
Yesterday Ken and I went grocery shopping again at 'Provencale' here in Luxembourg. But this time we were a bit better organized than 2 weeks ago. Last time we spent about 2 hours at the 'Provencale'... Yup, we were a bit lost because first of all. First of all we didn't know that we had to take a list at the entry on which we will have to stick the etiquettes from the weighted veggies, fruits, meat and fish and second we were busy to not get lost in this huge hall...errwww!
But yesterday, it took us only 1/2 hour! First of all we went for the lean beef, which we ordered cut in different portions. Instead of waiting for 20 minutes we decided to get the turkey and the chicken steaks and last but not least the salmon and the cod, which I lately cut into portions at home.
If you ever go to 'Provencale' to buy fruits or veggies, don't forget to take a jacket! It's so freaking cold at the vegetable and fruit department... like 'catching-a-cold-'-cold!!! Believe me! Now that we had our fruits and veggies we picked up our juicy steaks and returned straight home because we didn't want our delicious fresh meat to turn wicked. That wouldn't be cool at all!
Oh, and before I leave, if you ever want to cut your meat on your own at home, I highly recommend ceramics knives. (I bought ours at IKEA) They are so damn sharp so that you will surely have no problem cutting your meat. But be careful!
In two weeks I will write a little review about my first month of my preparation. So stay tuned!
See you soon!

Fairy at Blogger Closet Sale

Hey guys!
Here I am again, with a little review of our first Blogger Closet Sale here in Luxembourg.
When we all met for the first time at the Blogger Brunch a couple of months ago, the idea came up to organize a Closet Sale to get rid of all our clothes to have a reason to go shopping again without feeling guilty hehe. It was great seeing all the luxembourgish bloggers again as they are so open-minded and friendly and it was actually a great afternoon.

Every blogger brought something delicious to eat. We had baby-cupcakes, muffins, green-tea-cakes, sparkling-muffins and sparkling-cake, chocolate dipped marshmallow  and of course I brought some delicious but healthy quinoa brownies, (get the recipe here). But best of all, it was FREE!
I think the main reason why we didn't had that much traffic on the sale was because the date was a bit unhappily chosen, as it was a holiday, mother's day in Luxembourg and about 30degrees. I think almost everybody was in a park or enjoying a cool swim in a pool, am I right?I honestly would have preferred to do the same... I don't think that we sold that much as there haven't been a lot of people stopping by, but we enjoyed a great afternoon and it was a pleasure chatting with other bloggers again.

Next time we will organize the Blogger Sale a bit better, meaning to chose a better date and most of all a more centered location. I will keep you updated about this for sure!

Talk to you soon and enjoy the rest of your week my lovely ones!

Finally I got them!

Yes , I finally have my very own business cards!
Slowly but surely, things are getting pretty professional. When I am done with all that studying, I will be able to focus more on my blog, I promise!
I am trying to update you as much as I can, but I don't find myself very often having free-time to create an article for my lovely fitfam.
I am really sorry for that, but as soon as I finished this exam I will be back with some super cool news, hopefully! I am not revealing to much now, otherwise it wouldn't be interesting anymore.

I ordered these business cards from my sister's boyfriend. He has his own agency, called Gecko Group. They are doing a great job since a couple of years. I love to work with them as they are super friendly, of course, and they have the best and the most updated ideas ever. (The cards are speaking for themselves, aren't they?). So if you are ever in need of business cards, flyers, or a web design you know who to ask!

By the way, if you don't have any plans yet for tomorrow, stop by at our Blogger Closet Sale! You will be able to enjoy some really fancy drinks along with delicious selfmade cakes made by ourselves! You can shop the closets from:

Of course my closet as well.

Bye!
Hope to see you tomorrow!

Cardio Myth #2

Hey people!

That's me before my very first workout session! It was awesome!
Sorry for not posting any article recently but I have been very busy since I started my preparation on monday and I am not that used to plan my cookings...

So since we haven't been myth-busting for a long time, let's talk about the myth that if you want to get lean you need to do a lot of cardio!
How many people have you seen in your gym that spend hours and hours doing cardio and yet never get shredded and people never doing cardio being lean as hell?! How is this possible you may ask yourself now?

Well, people still think that only doing cardio will help you to get lean while lifting weights is just for growing bigger muscles. That's not really how it works... fortunately, because I hate doing cardio!
Your body fat percentage is primarily determined by your diet.

I know that doing cardio burns a lot of fat , but if you still eat way too much, your body will simply replace the fat you lost, with the excess calories you are giving it. Weightlifting burns about the same amount of calories per hour as a low-intensity cardio routine.

But, bare in mind, weight-lifting burns more calories AFTER the workout! Let's call this the 'post-workout-burn'. Meaning, that if you build a muscle, it will help you to stay lean as it increases the total amount of calories that your body burns while resting.

Don't get me wrong now, I am not saying that you should skip doing cardio! Cardio has a lot of health benefits (which we will discuss in another article), but if you are ready to follow a strict but healthy diet plan, you still can get ripped without even bothering with cardio. Awesome, isn't it?!

Always keep this in mind:

Let's get it on!

Finally it's Monday again!

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail!
I know this might sound weird, but today is a very special day for me!
I am entering a new village in the world of Fitness... the village called 'preparation'!
So today I will start my preparation for my very first bikini competition which will be in the winter-wonderland season this year!

Nobody told you it is going to be easy!
Sir Ken from Dumbbell and I went grocery shopping last weekend to get all the food and supplements we need to get started! Fortunately we have a 'Provencale' here in Luxembourg, which makes it way easier to get bigger quantities at a normal price!
We bought meat , veggies and carbs for 2 weeks so we don't have to go grocery shopping every single week.

Me taking a selfie while cutting beef hehe
That's a lot of Turkey!
I love chicken!
And fish!
Of course there are things such as pineapples , tomatoes and cucumbers that taste better when they are fresh, which means that I still have to go and buy these things once a week.
As we got the whole food last week, I already prepared meat into several portions for the next two weeks, so that we only have to take them out of the freezer, thaw them and cook them. It's as easy as that!

Let's get whey-sted! These are Ken's and mine!
I have to say that I am really excited to start my preparation, not only because it's something new but also because I have never seen myself shredded before. I wonder how my body and my mind will change during this whole period! Unfortunately I won't have any cheat-meal until after the competitions, but hey! How are you supposed to have a good form on stage when you're eating crap once a week?!

The rest of our food for the next two weeks!YUMMY!
Of course I will keep you updated every day via my Instagram and my Facebook page, and I will write a review after this first month. So stay tuned!

Make your week successful!

Fairy at ING night-marathon

Hey!

That's me on our way to Limpertsberg by feet.
Yesterday my sister (fashionbarbecue) and I went to our capital to support the ING night-marathon-runners. It's one of the best events you can enjoy here in little Luxembourg as a lot of foreigners are coming to visit Luxembourg , whether to run the marathon or just to support their friends and families who participate.

Actually I wanted one of the balloons, but we later went to a restaurant so no balloon for me...

Did someone just call me or am I fantasizing again?
We go to this event every single year because it's the only real big event where you'll have thousand of people in the capital. Some of them are making music or dancing to support the runners , and the spectators are being entertained by the different runners who disguised themselves as cat woman, batman, bunny, clowns, ballerinas in a tutu, some are even wearing a morphsuit...

A little souvenir from the event.
That's the one running in a morphsuit... I would choke after 1 km haha
You can enjoy a great party the moment you arrive at the LuxExpo at Kirchberg, which is also the arrival for the runners. There are also a lot of voluntaries who help handing out the food and drink supplies to the runners or help to set up the whole event. People like them need to be thanked...so, THANK YOU for making ING night-marathon such a success for our beautiful capital!

Water supply
Oranges, the perfect snack on the run!
I will load up further impressions on my Facebook page during the day. So if you want to know if I took a pic of you while running or supporting, have a visit! Here is the link.
