PIBA Ambassador Europe/Luxembourg

I couldn't have a better and greater start of the week than this...
Some time ago, my lovely sister offered me an awesome pair of tights by PIBA to help me stay motivated for my upcoming competitions. By then, I have never heard of this brand before, which is a shame because their gym-apparel is simply fantastic. Maybe you remember my review-post about those mermaid tights?

And now on the big news:
Around three weeks ago one of the managers from PIBA  contacted me and thanked me for the great review about my mermaid tights. Of course I was happy that they found my blog and that they actually took the time to read my post, as I consider my blog still to be on the small side compared to the international level as a matter of fact.
And now after some interaction I can proudly call myself the FIRST and so far only European ambassador of PIBA in and for Luxembourg! I feel highly honored to be part of their 'Super Women' team and to represent their apparel for Luxembourg and Europe. Words simply can't describe how happy and thankful I am that I fit in with their team and got a spot on their official page. (have a look here)

But that's not the end of the story yet, because there's also a little surprise for your guys.
As I am such a lovely fairy , I will share a piece of the cake with you of course. Meaning that you can now benefit from a 10% discount on your next PIBA purchase by using the promo-code JENNIFER10%OFF.
There is no time to lose,so go checkout their page, because they have an awesome new collection at the moment called 'wild at heart'. If you love everything that's colorful and striking , you are definitely going to love this collection. They also have a great variation of shorts, gym gloves, even gym-accessories (such as straps, bandages and towels) and competition apparel and accessories. It is definitely worth looking at.

I wish you all the same great start of the week as I had this morning.

Meal Prep Tips

After half a year of doing nearly nothing, my life is back to super busy: I work until late afternoon, hit the gym, go home, take a shower , eat and go sleeping... Just imagine I had to prepare my meals for everyday after. This wouldn't make it any easier and even more stressful...By meal prepping I try to eliminate the stress and time factor.

As I always preach: preparation is the key.
The first step is to plan and list up your meals for each day and then get all the things you need, not only food but also lock-lid containers. If you are new to meal prepping, it's better to buy a few more containers , just to make sure you can store all the food.
  • Pick one day per week to plan your meals for the whole week (according to your goals and preferences of course)
  • Choose two days to prepare your meals. This should be at the beginning and in the middle of the week. I wouldn't prepare meals for more than 2 days as it may risks to get spoiled.
  • Make sure to include every nutrient you need (protein, starch and vegetables).
    - Protein: chicken breast, natural ground beef, ground turkey, fish (salmon, tuna, cod, shrimps), eggs, steaks.
    - If you are vegetarian or vegan: beans, tofu, or broccoli.
    - Carbs: quinoa, sweet potato, brown rice, basmati rice, potatoes, quinoa crackers, puffed rice quinoa crackers.
    - Veggies: Spinach, green beans, broccoli, tomatoes, asparagus, carrots, zucchini, cucumber, mushrooms, peppers
  • If you have all the ingredients for your meals, start chopping and slicing your vegetables. This can also be useful if you want to snack (it's easier to chose for something healthier when it's ready to be eaten). Do the same with fruits that need cutting or peeling.
  • Cook and prepare your protein and carbs for the following two days. You can also prepare your meals for the whole week if you put them in the freezer. (I prefer preparing for only two days, it's up to you)
I think it's easier if you prepare your meals at two different days as this will prevent you from losing your whole rest-day with preparing and cooking for the next week. Oh...and concerning the storage of your containers when you are on the road, at work or at school, have a look at my older posts about the Renee Tote and Innovator500 by 6PackFitness. I think they are the perfect thing to help you stick to your diet and still look fancy as a fairy.

Have fun prepping my loves.

First Legsession in 2k15

OOTD

So yesterday was my first working-day and also my first leg-session in 2015, and to be honest, it was quite heavy. As I really want to improve my shape from the last season, the need to focus and push even harder is out of question. So after wearing my favorite heels all day long, I was still happy to finally put on my fancy and comfy nikes to hit my leg workout. And there we have the first problem already... As I was wearing heels the whole day, I constantly had cramps in my feet. But this didn't allure me from digging deeper...

As always, I started my workout with 5 sets of alternate leg-extensions and 5 sets of leg-curls , with a warm-up set to begin with. I prefer to do the leg-curl&-extension alternately to prevent using one leg more than the other.

After that I went on to the stiffed legs deadlifts, which has also become one of my favorite exercises as you can really focus on your hamstrings. And again a warm-up set to begin with, which is very important to prevent injuries, especially with exercises that demand a little stretch (e.g stiffed legs deadlift, lunges, squats and so on). Normally I do normal squats on the smith machine, but I wanted to change my routine a little bit as muscles become accustomed very fast to your routines and I want to build stronger and leaner legs for the next season. So instead of normal squats I changed to sumo-squats.
For those who don't know what sumo-squats are, here a short explanation: Sumo squats are also known as wide-leg squats and include different types of resistance as your strength improves. (kettle-bells or dumbbells) If you use weights ,such as kettle-bells or dumbbells, hold onto the handle with your arms straight down your torso so the bell is between your legs. Bend your knees and lower until the bottom of the bells touches the floor. (I prefer to stand on two benches to squat deeper.)

To finish my leg-session, I also did 5 sets of curtsy lunges, 5 sets on the 45degree leg-press (not alternately, as I will do this on my 2nd leg-day) and of course 5 sets calf-press on the 45d. leg-press. Honestly, I was happy when I finished my routine, and somehow the cramps in my feet didn't really disappeared... Therefor I skipped the cardio but did some planks and hanging crunches instead.

All in one I am very satisfied with my workout . Even if I suffered from cramps, I didn't interrupt my training, which makes me kind of proud of myself.
I hope you had a great start in the new week as well and that the rest of the week won't be too stressful.

Goals for 2015

Never look back

Wow... Another year has passed again and so many things have happened...
I moved together with me lovely boyfriend, I found a new passion, started poledancing again, experienced my first competition-preparation and had a fantastic first competition-season. I don't regret anything of 2014 because it helped me to become who I am and know what I want in future time.

2015 is already knocking on the door, and just as everyone else I contemplated about the next year. I already made a big step in the world of the grown-ups , but I will make another big step as I am entering the work-world...Yep the time has come to leave the couch and get busy. Besides this, there are still some things that I want to accomplish in 2015.

As far as I am concerned, I don't call it 'New Year's Resolutions' but rather ' New Year's Goals', simply because I think that if you set a goal you are more likely to stay motivated and reach them as if you just set up some good intentions.
Here a small list what I want to change and some goals I want to reach in 2015:
  1. Spend more time with my family
  2. Walk my fluffy ball Mumble more often
  3. Get a better shape than 2014
  4. Get a satisfying placement at the 'Top de Colmar' (France), Powerfood's J-M.B Open (Luxembourg), Miss FIBO Power Beauty (Germany), West-german Championship (Germany) & maybe qualify for the World Championships in Warsaw (Poland)
  5. Be more organized
  6. Be more positive
  7. Save more money (very original I know haha)
I am convinced that by the end of 2015 I will have tallied almost all the goals on this List. The 4th resolution may be the most difficult one, but I believe in myself. I want to represent out team with my best possible shape at the Powerfood's J-M.B Open and if I get the chance to participate at the world-championship in Warsaw I don't want to just be part of the event. I am going to compete. 2015 is GAME TIME.

I wish you all HAPPY HOLIDAYS, wonderful moments with your friends and family and a HAPPY New Year! May all your wishes come true and may everyone of you reaches their goals. ( Have a look at my GUIDE to keep up your good intentions)

Nike Free 5.0 TR Fit 4

I hope you all had some great holidays and enjoyed the time with your beloved family. Mine were fantastic and even if the snow arrived a day later, I really felt the christmas-magic at home. As I already mentioned in an earlier post, I enjoyed the festive days to the fullest, but without indulging too much. On Christmas Eve we had a meat fondue, therefor I was able to eat very healthy, before the give-away of our presents. And guess what I got... a new pair of Nike Free 5.0. , I couldn't be any happier right now. (Thanks a lot mum.)

The colors are so bright and they perfectly match the pattern of the outer material and the laces. While the shoes are mostly pink, I think that the white and violet details give them the perfect touch and along with the NikeID 'Train Dirty' they bring out a flawless pair of girly-tough training shoes.

Of course I already tried my new babies for my leg-session today and as per normal, the shoes speak for themselves. I definitely don't have to waste any words about the comfort... Everyone who ever trained in Nike shoes knows how comfy they are and how it feels like to train with them.
Now I really get into a conflict every time I hit the gym. Should I wear the green/blue Flyknit or the super fancy pink Free-Run? #firstworldlifterproblems... I got such a hard furrow to plough, don't I ?

Have a great new week fitfam.
