Fruit Infused Water

Hey people!

This post goes out to everyone who wants to cut down on sugar filled beverages and fizzy drinks, especially in Summer. Who doesn't know the situation of drinking a refreshing Pepsi on a hot summer day but after 15 minutes being super thirsty again, or even thirstier?
Well , don't panic, I got a great alternative for you: Fruit Infused Water.

  • What is 'Fruit Infused Water' ?

Maybe you ask yourself, 'what is the difference between normal water and Fruit Infused Water' . Well the answer is pretty simple, it tastes better. So while you improve the flavor of the water, it is easier for you to achieve your daily recommended amount of water because it just tastes better than the ordinary boring-tasting water. Further more, by adding fruits, herbs of flowers, you include essential vitamins too , which help you to go more vitalized through your day.

  • What are the benefits of 'Fruit Infused Water'?

As we know, good hydration plays a very important role for a good concentration and productivity. Dehydration can cause illnesses, headaches, digestive problems, obesity and even joint pains.  So by drinking water, you can not only avoid all this but it helps your kidneys to function more properly and even helps with weight loss too!
A lot of Spas already know the benefits of fruit/herb or flower infused water for years and now it is time for us to learn about those benefits.
So you don't have to visit a Spa anymore to drink a suer expensive glass of fruit/herb or flower infused water. It is really easy to do it at home and it is extremely healthy and money-saving too!

  • How to make ' Fruit Infused Water' ?

Actually you can add anything you want; Strawberries, oranges, lemons, limes, raspberries, basil, cucumber, mint and so on.
One of the most common and refreshing infused water is 'lemon infused water'. As you may know, lemon is a natural cleanser and you can taste the lemon-flavour immediately after adding the fruit to the water.

Another common variation would be 'orange and lime infused water', as oranges contain a lot of vitamin C.

What you need:

  • 2 Limes
  • 1 Orange
  • Some Rosemary
  • Lemon juice
Directions:
  1. Slice your limes and oranges until they fit your bottle
  2. leave them for about 1 hour in the bottle so that they can release the flavor and the vitamins.
  3. you may add some ice cubes if you want it cooler.

Here is one of my favourite infused water:

What you need:
  • 5 Strawberries
  • 1 Handful of raspberries
  • 1 Orange
Directions:
  1. Cut your fruits until they fit your bottle
  2. Add them to the water
  3. Shake your bottle so that the fruits can release the flavor
  4. Leave it in the fridge for about 6 hours, if you really want an intense flavor.
  5. you may add some ice cubes or even crushed ice if it is a very hot day

While Fruit Infused Water helps you to stay hydrated , it is also a great idea if you have a garden party in spring or summer. It can be quite decorative on your table and give your guests the opportunity to try something new and healthier than for example a glass of wine or a sugared beverage.

If you have children, this may also be a good way to reduce their consumption of fizzy drinks , as they love to select the fruits on their own and watch their own flavors come out, like some kind of magic.

Normally I prepare myself some Fruit Infused Water too at home to fill in my gym-bottle. But sometime I forget to prepare it, so I drink from the free water distributor in the gym that has fruit infused water too and you can choose from 5 different flavors. Which I think is totally awesome!

Have you ever tried Fruit Infused Water, while exercising or simply at work? And which is your favorite flavor?
